This website has been dedicated to Struggle for Liberty of Turkish Women. Hurriyet means Liberty in Turkish and I will try to put articles about the milestones of Liberty of Turkish Women (Türk Kadınının Hürriyet Mücadelesi). I have been collecting articles and images for this project for many years. Please contribute if you have any document that suitable for this website.
Internationally the movement for women’s rights arose in the early 19th century. Turkish Women started to gain important rights around 1920’s. As well as posting what has been achieved I will try to explore a wide range of issues that confront the modern woman, including self-defence, economic well-being and employment, sex and abortion, the family, technology, and much more.
